Formed in January 2018, this group purveys genre-busting free improvisations that mix free jazz, Krautrock, and classical, sometimes brooding, sometimes grooving, often drifting through the cosmos. NYC native Holtje founded Theoretical Mustache, out of which Caterpillar Quartet grew, put together by Kobayashi, ending up with a potent mixture to which each member brings a distinct flavor.
